Quotation Two

“The optimist sees the rose and not its thorns; the pessimist stares at the thorns, oblivious to the rose” Kahlil Gibran
On the other hand, the second quote really describes a truly optimistic person. An optimist can always look at the bright side of every situation and figure out that their problem is not as bad as they think it is. When you have reached a point where no matter what difficulties or roadblocks get in your way, and you still keep your head up, that is when you've truly succeeded as a optimistic person.
An optimistic person usually shares similar traits with a person that demonstrates perseverance. If this person realizes that no matter how much they have to overcome that it could be worse, that can be what keeps them moving forward on their way to accomplish their goals. More upsides to being an optimistic person is that usually optimistic people are people that others like being around, so you may have a large group of friends if you have an upbeat, optimistic personality. Optimistic people seem to live healthier, happier lives than their pessimistic counter parts, so it's best to try and be as optimistic as possible.

Kahlil Gibran is a Lebanese Poet, and the third best selling poet of all time. This quote was probably in one of his poems. This quote is significant because again it outlines the differences between an optimist and a pessimist. An optimist tries to see an imperfect item as perfect, where a pessimist can only focus on the negative things about that item. Whether you see the thorns in the rose or not is up to how you see things...
