Tapestry Introduction

Optimism, what does it mean? That is going to be my goal to try and convey to the readers of my Tapestry. By the end of my Tapestry, the reader should be able to determine many differences between Optimism and Pessimism, with real life and fictional examples of each. They should also understand the importance of perseverance and determination and how it directly relates to optimism. As a team captain in basketball, I feel like it's my job to demonstrate optimism both on and off the court, so hopefully my teammates will exude optimism as well. I feel like anyone in control of any power or a leadership role should demonstrate optimism, as it's very important to have when leading a team, company, group, etc. I would like to understand why people have a certain mindset on whether to be optimistic or pessimistic. Is it because of their upbringing as a child, or could that just be another trait as to who a person is? At least to me, it seems like rich people are more pessimistic than their poorer peers, as they are always after material things, wanting a bigger house, car, that promotion at work, etc. So that they can never be satisfied with their life, and thus can never appreciate their fortune and what it means to help others. While even though the poorer person might not appear to have as fortunate of a situation, they might have a greater peace of mind and appreciate things that their wealthy counterparts may have a negative outlook on. These are all just random thoughts in my head as I'm writing this, but hopefully I can find an inner meaning and decode all the messy thoughts in my head to bring to you what optimism is all about.
